ROBSIMULATION

Simulation of door and tailgate testing processes on a virtual vehicle

For door and tailgate tests, vehicles and the entire test procedure are visualized in 3 dimensions and adapted to the required test task

The entire test process is programmed, simulated and optimized offline in RobSimulation long before the real vehicle is available. With virtual commissioning on a real vehicle, the test processes can be started immediately and carried out safely. Manual programming on the vehicle is largely omitted. The provision of test procedures at global locations ensures the comparability of quality measurements. These benefits result in significant time and cost savings.

The testing of doors and tailgates is an important quality process throughout vehicle development up to production and end-of-line testing at the end of the production line.

Robotic measuring offers an automated, standardized OEM process here, e.g. for the force-path pattern when opening and closing, measuring the closing energy, the closing speed, the closing force, the closing and opening time, or the unlocking force both in quality assurance and in production.

The system offers an easy-to-use user interface for workers. Measuring a new vehicle requires only a few manual interventions before the system automatically carries out the predefined measurements. The system already supports several different types of doors and flaps. A major advantage of the system is that it can be modulated and easily expanded to include other special measurement methods. The simple integration of new sensors and the programming of new test procedures are advantages of our RobFlow© measurement robotics software, which discloses all steps of measurements and evaluations to the user so that the execution and evaluation of each measurement is comprehensible. The results can be archived in various ways, including in simple CSV files or in user-defined PDF reports using our additional RobReport software.
